Parent Alienation Syndrome (PAS)
PAS has been described by its pioneer, Dr. Richard A. Gardiner MD as:-
"The parental alienation syndrome (PAS) is a childhood disorder that arises almost exclusively in the context of child-custody disputes. Its primary manifestation is the child’s campaign of denigration against a parent, a campaign that has no justification. It results from the combination of a programming (brainwashing) parent’s indoctrinations and the child’s own contributions to the vilification of the target parent. When true parental abuse and/or neglect is present, the child’s animosity may be justified and so the parental alienation syndrome explanation for the child’s hostility is not applicable."
The purpose of the alienation is usually to gain or retain custody without the involvement of the father. The alienation usually extends to the father's family and friends as well.
PAS is here and real and it is recognised by other parts of the World. However in the United Kingdom, PAS is NOT recognised for the simple reason, it is threat to the unlawful policy of >95% [1] one parent custody (usually mothers) operated in the UK.
Judging by the reaction and exceptional steps taken by CAFCASS (and its amenable agents who both tapped in the Legal Aid Board slush fund) in my own case to totally dismiss, hatchet & trash PAS, I am in no doubt CAFCASS and ALL the legal authorities are fully aware of the TRUE existence of PAS and its real impact, but again if they openly accepted the existence of PAS, it would threaten the >95% one parent custody rate [1], AND more importantly CAFCASS and legal authorities might for once really need to think about the child/children's welfare first.
Again, the victims of such flagrant denials and abuse are OUR CHILDREN.
